SEJARAH KAMPUNG PAPANDAK: ARSITEKTUR RUMAH JULANG NGAPAK TAHUN 1910-1930

Consist This study examines the history of Papandak Village, focusing on the architecture of the Julang Ngapak houses from 1910–1930. The purpose of this study is to examine the history of Papandak Village, the architecture of the Julang Ngapak houses, and the impact of modernization on the architecture of the Julang Ngapak houses in Papandak Village. The method used is historical with a qualitative descriptive approach, which includes the stages of heuristics (source collection), veriQication (source criticism), interpretation (source interpretation), and historiography (historical writing). The results show that the architecture of Julang Ngapak reQlects the local wisdom of the Sundanese people. However, Qires in 1926 and 1929 caused changes in the form and function of the houses. The architecture of Julang Ngapak represents a local cultural identity that has undergone transformation along with modernization and socio-historical pressures.
